He said, “My son, Brandon Smiley, has passed away this morning. I’m about to get on a flight to Birmingham,”

Neither the cause nor any other details of the popular radio host’s passing were disclosed. During this difficult time, he asked his followers to pray for his family.

“Pray. Be strong,” he said. “Pray for my son’s mother and my son’s siblings.”

On Twitter, Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin expressed his condolences to the Smiley family.
