As Simpson recounts in her story, it was early September 2001 and she stated that she “had spent that summer apart from my first real boyfriend, Nick, and I still didn’t know how to be single.”

During an after party for the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, the actor, whom she refers to as Movie Star, met her and “eyeballed ” her up and down, “Like he was undressing me with his eyes…”

The young singer, at the age of 21, claimed to have obtained the phone number of someone. However, she never used it and instead, they met again later and discussed the possibility of working together on a music video.

Unfortunately, the collaboration never took place and the two eventually lost contacts after the singer rekindled her relationship and got married to Lachey. Despite the missed opportunity, the singer continued to pursue her musical career.

In 2006, the couple divorced and later, a producer told her, “I have somebody who’s been after you forever, and you don’t even know it” connecting her with the Movie Star.

Simpson recounts a memorable encounter in his memoirs. He and his romantic interest met at the Beverly Hills Hotel where he was getting ready for an awards show. It was during this meeting that they shared their first kiss, a moment that Simpson cherishes and holds dear to his heart.

The hotel holds a special place in Simpson’s heart, serving as the backdrop for one of the most romantic moments of his life. The kiss marked the start of a beautiful relationship and the beginning of a new chapter in his life.

“He texted me throughout the awards show,” she writes. “The event was so huge that it made me feel special that every beautiful woman in Hollywood was there and he wanted me.”

“Shortly after, I saw a photo of Movie Star on a red carpet with her,” Simpson revealed. “I was never ever in a million years going to be the other woman.”

The unnamed actor, despite being in a relationship with another woman, pursued a woman. He convinced her that he and his girlfriend had ended their relationship and were merely being photographed together to conceal the news of the split.

The actor even invited the woman to come see him while he was filming, but the arrangements were shady. They had to travel in separate cars to the hotel where they had rooms on different floors, and she was told to use the fire escape to reach his room.

Simpson eventually realized that the actor was trying to hide her from his girlfriend. They never had a physical relationship, and she decided to end things on her own terms. However, she did take away a token to remember the actor by.
