“We have complete confidence that our newly appointed Chief Justice will fulfill all the requirements of justice as prescribed by the Constitution and the law. A just and equitable society thrives when these principles are upheld,” declares PTI.

A fundamental truth is emphasized in the statement: Societies that lack access to justice often suffer grave consequences. In order to ensure that justice is accessible to all citizens, the judiciary plays a crucial role.

Moreover, the PTI spokesperson emphasized that the party is deeply committed to upholding the supremacy of the law and the highest standards of justice and equity. The nation has consistently been urged to uphold the Constitution and adhere to the rule of law throughout Chairman Imran Khan’s 27-year political career.

Women who are political prisoners in detention were specifically emphasized as victims of PTI’s call for the protection of constitutional rights. In their opinion, the Chief Justice of Pakistan should make addressing this issue a priority.

In addition, the statement sought the compassionate intervention of the Chief Justice in resolving cases involving forcibly disappeared individuals.

According to PTI, the newly elected Chief Justice maintains democracy and constitutional supremacy, as well as upholding the fundamental rights of all citizens.

On May 23, 2019 PTI Government Moved Reference against Qazi Faez Isa

The PTI government moved a reference to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) against Justice K K Agha and Qazi Faez Isa on May 23, 2019. It is the forum that can hold superior court judges accountable – for not disclosing their families’ foreign assets.

The move by the government was strongly criticized in political circles, the legal community, and the media. Justice Isa’s presidential reference and the SJC proceedings launched on the basis of it were quashed by the top court in June 2020.

A full court of 10 judges issued the verdict following over six months of hearing petitions alleging that Justice Isa had failed to disclose UK properties owned by his family members.

A curative review reference was filed later by the government. Former prime minister Imran Khan admitted in April 2022 that the presidential reference to remove Justice Isa was a mistake.

As a “mistake”, Imran Khan blamed the PTI government’s law ministry for referring Justice Isa to the Supreme Judicial Council. Farogh Nasim, however, had dismissed the blame, stating that the reference was moved only at ex-PM Khan’s request. List of Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan
